"End fluoridation now!" Oliver Outerbridge for Portland Maine Water Board.

Dear Portland Residents.

I am running for Portland Water Board because of my concerns about fluoridation and its associated health risks. These risks especially high for infants, the elderly, and those suffering from kidney and thyroid functions, even the American Dental Association admits. We must ask, how can we as a society choose or accept a system of involuntary mass-medication, delivered through the public water supply? At what dose for who, and for how long? I believe all medical decisions should be made by individuals in consultation with their doctor(s).

The compound used by the Portland Water District is not pharmaceutical grade fluoride. It is Hydro Fluorosilicic Acid, a by-product from the manufacture phosphate fertilizers, and a known neurotoxin that contains arsenic, lead and chromium. It is the maine ingredient in prozac, sarin gas, and rat poison. In Addition, fluoride's purported benefits are achieved topically that applied directly to the teeth via toothpaste and mouthwash. Such products warn against swallowing them and direct the consumer to seek assistance from poison specialists in such instances.

The league of Young Voters finds "the idea of attempting to remove fluoride [from the public water supply] in one years time to be politically naive. They don' know me very well; I am like a duck: calm above the surface, paddling like hell underneath.

The Portland Water Board has currently constituted, is decidely pro-fluoride. It is time to change that.

Elect me to the Portland Water Board so that we may a fair, open, and balanced debate on this important health issue.
to your health!

Candidate Oliver Outerbridge for Water Board.
Portland Maine.
